Hugged by Miso
Today was the first time I tasted Miso soup. I am not sure how authentic it was or whether it was related to the original recipe at all but it is the version of Miso soup that I got today. And I must say, the feeling you get when you sink into your bed after a long day and the mattress and pillow just seem like they're hugging your aching muscles, that's what Miso soup reminded me of. A bit extreme isn't it. But I emotional about food like that. I immediately googled it. Miso paste is a Japanese seasoning made with fermented soybean, salt and grain and imparts what probably what all my fav food writers refer to as Umami taste. Anyhow I am now very much looking forward to delving deeper into Japanese cuisine. All thanks to Miso Soup.
